On 14th July, Watford Walking Football Club entered two teams into the Thames Valley Walking Football League Over 50s Memorial Cups and they took the double!
The Division 1 and 2 cup which was the ‘Steve Dyett Memorial Trophy’ in honour of Watford’s late Steve Dyett, who unexpectedly and suddenly passed away last December during a training session at Watford. It was an emotional day for the Watford team and Steve’s family, who came to support. The team, managed by Ashan Darr topped their league and the club name goes on the first year of the newly named summer cup.
The Championship and Premiership Memorial Cup was also won by the stronger Watford team, managed by Glenn Cato. This was in memory of Howard Zagnoiev, the original and former League Chairman.
