Oxford United Walking Football Club Women

Oxford United Walking Football Club women won the TVWFL division 2 title at the first time of asking, following relegation the previous season, and they did it in style remaining unbeaten throughout the season, conceding only 3 goals in the process.

They started with 2 wins and 3 draws in September, beating Maidenhead 1-0, and Fleet 3-1 whilst drawing 1-1 with Woking, and 0-0 against Wycombe and South Reading to end the day on 9 points.

Into October and they collected another 9 points beating South Reading 1-0 and Maidenhead 2-0 with draws v Fleet and Wycombe both 0-0, and Woking 1-1.

November saw a great start with a 4-0 thrashing of Wycombe, a 1-0 win v Woking followed by another v Maidenhead, a draw against South Reading and a 2-0 win v Fleet.

The team went into the final round of games top of the table and 2 points ahead of Fleet, and held onto the place with 4 wins and a 0-0 draw against Woking, the wins being against Maidenhead and Fleet, both 2-0, Wycombe 3-0 and South Reading 4-0.

A fitting way to end manager John Taylor’s time in charge as he ‘retired’ from the post.

Goal scorers throughout the season were Holly Bridge with 16 including 4 hat tricks, Krissy Hall 7, Jenny Elliott and Pat Aitken with 2 each, and one own goal.

The squad throughout the season was Grace Teixeira, Sue Bird, Holly Bridge, Krissy hall, Heide Johansen-Berg, Helen horseman, Pat Aitken, Jenny Elliott and Sue Haggett.
